Did you know Kathy G & Company has an amazing facebook page? Check is out HERE
This month, Kathy G wants to show her spicy side by sharing one of her favorite dishes from deep down in Louisiana. Étouffée (A spicy Cajun stew of vegetables and seafood) is the perfect meal for a cold February night or for sharing with fiends while watching the big game and enjoying a beer or two. Season to taste and make it as spicy as you like, but please note that no matter how delicious your etouffée comes out, it simply MUST be served over rice. Enjoy!!!
At Kathy G & Company, we’re always striving to create new and exciting recipes for our clients and we really knocked it outta the park with a delicious cocktail our “mixologists” created a few months back. The “Crème Brûlée Martini” was recently nominated as one of three finalists for “Innovative Mixology” in the 2012 International Caterers Association CATIE AWARDS and we couldn’t be more proud! Our design team was also nominated for a 2012 CATIE AWARD for Best Table Scape. We’re so very excited to have been nominated in two CATIE Awards categories and look forward to seeing all of our friends at the ceremony!
When the best travel advisors in Alabama get together and celebrate 125 years of helping Alabamians see the world, they call on the catering team that can provide the same level of expertise and service standards they offer their clients. Kathy G and Company was so very proud to be called on to help Brownell Travel celebrate their 125th Anniversary on January 6th – Preparing a diverse menu with dishes from around the world. Mini Pulled-Pork Quesadillas, Edible Asian Spoons with Salmon Tartare, Katfedes with Taziki Sauce, and a Polenta Parmigiana Station were all part of the global offerings at this most momentous of anniversaries. Congratulations to everyone at Brownell – Here’s to another amazing 125 years!!!
On January 8th, the Kathy G team headed over to Rosewood Hall in downtown Homewood for the PWG Bridal Show. Brides-to-Be from the Birmingham area flock to this most amazing event to meet with more than 60 different wedding professionals. Our team loves this event as the girls at Engaged Birmingham do such a wonderful job promoting it to young women across central Alabama… With so many great new bridal clients, we can’t wait for the second PWG show this summer – Hope to see you there!

It’s not all about dinners with Kathy G & Company… We also cook up some pretty delish breakfast and brunch menus. On January 12, the Children’s Aid Society of Alabama had an early morning event at Park Lane and our team of chefs thrilled the guests serving up Egg Casserole with Roasted Red Peppers and Sausage, Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits, and White cheddar Cheese Grits made from scratch. If you have a company breakfast or other morning event coming up, call us at 205-942-4210 and have a Kathy G event coordinator help plan your AM meeting.
The Pointe Ball, one of the most exciting annual fundraisers in Birmingham, took place on January 28th and Kathy G was once again selected to cater and design the black tie affair benefitting the Alabama Ballet. The event took place at Saks Fifth Avenue and included cocktails, dinner and dancing as well as a vignette ballet performance, which all attendees would agree was spectacular. The theme for the dinner was “Swan Lake” with a menu that included Herb-Crusted Filet of Beef Tenderloin over Truffled Wild Mushroom Risotto. The dessert theme was “Alice in Wonderland” with several sweet offerings including “Mad Hatter” Macaroons, Meringue Mushrooms, and Chocolate Pot de Crème.
