How is it Thanksgiving already?  It sure did seem to sneak right up on us here at Kathy G & Co., but that’s all right because it signals the beginning of HOLIDAY PARTIES!  We’ve got two great adult drinks for your festive nights and they’re both so very yummy.

If you’ve never had Milk Punch, you have no idea what you’re missing… KG’s Nutmeg Milk Punch is a heavenly twist the sugary sweet concoction those “in the know” love so much.

And if you wanna spice up your eggnog this holiday season, Kathy G’s Winter Wonderland is a decadently delicious spin on the same ol’ same ol’.  Serve either holiday potion at your next party or just make a few for you and your spouse to enjoy while decorating the tree!

We at Kathy G & Co. were extremely honored to be the caterer of choice for the City of Birmingham, the Honorable Mayor William A. Bell, Sr. and nearly 100 prominent guests for their dinner on Monday November 15th.  In addition to Mini Crab Cakes on Lime, the menu also included a Salad of Mixed Green with Honey Glazed Grilled Pears & Crumbled Gorgonzola as well as our delicious Pan Seared Chicken with Shitake Mushrooms and Marsala.  The Best of the Best in Birmingham were on hand and we’re most appreciative of the opportunity to cater their event.

WEDDINGS A NIGHT TO REMEMBER WITH KATHY G’s INFUSED VODKA BAR On Friday, November 12th, the KG team traveled to the Birmingham’s Sonnet House providing both the catering and design for the evening wedding of Lance and Amanda Case.  Nearly 200 guests enjoyed Shrimp & Grits, Pecan Crusted Chicken and our INFUSED VODKA BAR, as they danced the night away.  Andy Tolar provided amazing lighting and Studio G was the photographer providing incredible photos that you can view at their facebook page.  It truly was a night to remember.

On Saturday, November 6th, Kathy G & Co. headed down toward the Talladega National Forest to a lake house belonging to the family of Jennifer McDonald and Brian Jonas for their gorgeous outdoor wedding.  Kathy G.’s Natalie Pilato Andrews was the event coordinator while Olexa's did the cakes and Appear Photography snapped photos of the breathtaking floral and design coordinated by Andy Hopper of KG Designs.  From the Coconut Crusted Shrimp with Mango Salsa and delicious Cedar Planked Salmon to the stunning floral arch on the dock, Kathy G & Co. was proud to be such a big part of Jen and Brian’s PERFECT FALL DAY. Tuesday, November 16 the group AWEP (Alabama Wedding and Event Professionals) had their monthly meeting and we were thrilled to host it at Park Lane in Mountain Brook.  The theme for the evening was Moroccan Nights though we had lots of fun calling it, “MO-ROCK-ON NIGHTS”.  Everything from the Endive Leaves with Tabouli Salad and the Moroccan Chicken Tagine to the Herbed Grilled Vegetables Cous Cous Salad was 100% Moroccan… Though as delicious as the food was, nothing could top the absolutely STUNNING Moroccan Makeover executed by KG Designs Andy Hopper.  So authentic was the look, that walking into Park Lane for the event made all of our AWEP guests feel as if they were magically transported to Marrakech. It’s no secret that we’re especially proud to have Andy Hopper as our lead designer at KG Designs.  He’s incredibly talented and everyone loves working with him.  Now all of Birmingham will get to meet Andy as he’s going to be featured in a Birmingham News story, written by Chanda Temple, on Saturday, November 27th.  Focusing on the “Tricks of the Trade” of the top designers in Alabama, Chanda chose Andy because more and more people are beginning to notice what we’ve known all along: His designs are creative, innovative, and elegant.  To see some of Andy’s incredible work, click here.

Alys Stephens Center – Mystical Arts of Tibet
For those who love to learn about new cultures, the Alys Stephens Center hosted the “Mystical Arts of Tibet” from November 8th -12th, and Kathy G & Co. was excited to cater their weekly event.  The highlight of the week was the incredibly tedious yet wonderfully beautiful scraping of colored sand into a four-foot-diameter mandala.  This project went on for days and yet it was destroyed shortly after its completion - Serving as a metaphor for the impermanence of life.  As per the request of the Tibetan Monks that participated, the closing banquet was a vegetarian’s dream with Grilled Vegetable Tagine, Mixed Green Salad, Brown Rice, and a Fall Vegetable Medley.

Kathy G & Co. is very proud to announce the launch of our BRAND NEW website for Park Lane.  We felt it was time that our marketing reach grew along with the company and as such, we joined forces with a very talented web designer, Kelly Proudfit, of Visual Views and she built the fantastic new site: ParkLaneByKathyG.com

Please stop on over and forward the link to all your friends and family.  With hundreds of gorgeous photos and updates to come weekly, this is sure to be a site you’ll want to bookmark.  Again, it’s www.ParkLaneByKathyG.com.
